my other half

i love my husband. i do. he is so wonderful to me... i may not give him the credit he deserves, so i thought i might reveal what makes him the best husband ever.

1. he starts my car for me when it's cold out
2. he tells me he loves me at least a million times a day
3. he tells me he loves me at least a million times a day
4. he tells me he loves me at least a million times a day... get the point?
5. he changes the litter box while i'm pregnant, even though he hates my cats and changing the litter
6. even though he hates my cats, he still treats them well
7. he loves my daughter
8. he is over excited about being a daddy
9. he is scared to become a daddy, but not because he lacks the ability. because someone will depend on him for the rest of his life
10. he would work 6 jobs if it meant his family would be happy
11. he will go get me subway at the drop of a dime
12. even though he really really REALLY sucks at cleaning, he tries to do it to keep me happy
13. he really loves christmas
14. even though he had a crappy childhood, he is still a big ol kid
15. even when i'm furious at him he has a way of making me laugh... dammit.
16. TO BE CONTINUED...

grandma's christmas games

before work, mike and i picked up st. nick's candy for allys... and us... and the pets... we spent approximately 40 dollars after we were done... yes, i know that is a crazy amount to spend on candy. but i was reminded of how my mother stocked our stockings year after year with toys and candy and other goodies. i loved that. i know windy and i were always the kids that were envied when it came to the nonchalant holidays like easter, st. nick's eve, valentine's day, etc. but she always knew how much we loved it. granted i banked like a mo-fo every year in december (i.e. st. nick's eve, my birthday (party with family and party with friends), x-mas eve at grandma l's, x-mas morning at home, x-mas afternoon at grandma f's...), but that's besides the point. i plan to spoil the crap out of my kids come holidays. i don't see much of a point doing it the rest of the year tho. anyway, i was at work doing dishes when i was reminded of the holidays at my grandma filipiak's. she always had crazy games for us to play. my favorite being the fishing game. she would have a sheet blocking the entrance to their office with my uncles and dad behind the blockade. she would have a fishing pole each of us would get a turn tossing over the sheet to "hook" a big one. never anything super good, but it was always fun to see what you could get, and get to listen to my uncles and dad argue about what to put on the end for which kid. the one i hated the most was the singing one... since i'm so super shy and all. my sister and my cousins amy and renee seemed to love the singing one, while lisa and i would wait to be last. :) windy and amy would team up and sing one so everyone could hear them to receive their prize. lisa and i would have to be pushed into it and shakily sing through one of the easier christmas songs to barely receive our prize... she also had an easter basket hunt. now seeing as they lived in a huge farm house, this was no easy task. and when she would give the task of hiding the baskets to one of my uncles or my father, it was even worse off. some of us would get so mad trying to find that stuff. lol.

stuff like this really makes me want to be a grandma. not that i'm not having fun being a mom first :) can't wait to be the toothfairy :)

patrick

meet patrick. we just got him on tuesday. allys picked him out... i wanted the black one lol. and yes, i've heard it all. so don't tell me. we got him because glenn does so much better with another cat in the house... don't ask me, i don't make the rules. but i would much rather deal with a sassy kitten than clean up puke everyday because glenn has nothing better to do than lick himself clean day after day... what would you do?

it's f f f f f fuckin cold in here...

so, the heat broke in the building. craig says the bar was quite chilly as well so he has the heat guy comin out in the morning... but i tell you what. i froze my ass off at my mom's house last night cuz she's too afraid to pay too much for heat and dreamed about how warm and toasty my apartment is only to come home to a chilly upper fifties. the worst part is trying to get my very stubborn 4 year old to realize i want her to stay in a hoodie and slippers all evening. i swear to you the child is hearing ghosts or something of the sort, because only a moment after screaming at her that she needs to keep her jacket on because the apartment is frigid she has it off again. like talking to a wall sometimes. i also told her to pick up the clippers next to her and she automatically goes for the "clippies"... FOR HER HAIR!!! sorry to fall off subject, but what an evening. anyway, i attempted to fix the problem myself. while i lived with elyisha, my room had an electric baseboard heater, so i was kind of hoping that these were the same. but of course i was mistaken. then i thought that maybe it was the thermostat, so i ripped that sucker open and found no voltage through it. mike pointed out that the wires connected to that aren't powerful enough to set the "reader" off... so i was feeling hopeless. it was already 9:15pm and i'm sorry but i hate calling people that aren't family or friends after 9, so mike called craig for me. thanks mike. hopefully it will be nice and toasty when we get up...

betrayed by my "hero"

i've learned some information on a person i considered to be my hero that completely defies everything i ever saw them standing for. i don't know how to handle that. you spend so much time thinking about how great they are and that they changed your life for the better only to find out that your life could have been completely different. i know that i stand for not having any regrets, but when something this extraordinary happens it leaves you feeling very out of control. this "hero" of mine lead me to believe i was being saved... only i am NOT certain as to how true those words are anymore... i initially wanted to confront my "hero" about these certain instances, but i am left unsettled in that department. this changes me as a person. it changes my view point on life, love and religion. it leaves me so hopelessly lost that i may not ever find my way back to the surface. i just don't know who to trust anymore. all i can say for certain is that my life is mine and i intend to live it the way i want to now. no more uncertainty, no more advice from my "hero".

recommendations....

i've been reading a walk to remember by nicolas sparks and i can't tell you how much i love this book. i haven't completely finished it yet, but it definitely blows the movie out of the water. i hope his other stuff is just as good. i think i may be heading to the library today... lol

Machete by quentin tarintino was ridiculously awesome... if you loved deathproof and planet terror. blood, guts and danny trejo... oh and cheech! yea!!!! and in my opinion it definitely hit lindsay lohan's real life character. lol

do i have to slap a bitch?

my boss is driving me nuts. i didn't think much of it, but this past sunday he stole my dinner server to go to milwaukee, cutting him out 4 hours early... granted sunday's are normally pretty slow in the dining room and 2 servers would have normally been enough... it wasn't. in no way shape or form. if the guy would have thought about it even a little, he would have realized it was the last weekend before school started and no matter what the previous weekend had brought, we were going to be busy. on top of all of this, he never once asked lower boss or i if it was alright that he do such a thing. scum. right?

on top of this wonderful move, he has been scheduling himself to cut out early on game days. considering one of the stipulations of taking over this store was that he had to work every game day, through the game.

he has also had a year to move me up, or at least train me on things to move me up. i haven't moved an inch in a year and now my raise isn't any higher than last year. talk about ripping me off. and it's not like i haven't been asking for more responsibility. i have, believe you, me. in fact i have so much as started to train myself in the hopes of someone catching on to the fact that i am training myself... nope. nothing. took a step back. it frustrates me more to watch someone who was hired after me, trained after me, and promoted after me taking steps up the ladder. not that they don't deserve it, they do. but why the heck don't i? i know i do, i know i should be worked with... something makes me feel like it's personal. like because i don't complain about anything and work my butt off means i want to stay in the same position for the rest of my life. if you are going to keep me in this position at least have the courtesy to pay me for it. i hate waiting around for someone who doesn't give a shit about me. and yes, i do think the store has gone down hill since the previous management. there is no control and there is WAY to much favoritism being played out...

anyone have any suggestions for me? i love the work, i hate my management team...

bash the "ex"

i can't keep secret anymore. i will leave them anonymous, but can't keep them in any longer.

here is a list of the stupid shit one or more of my "exes" has pulled on me:

1. broke up with me to be with my best friend

2. set playground equipment on fire, ending in a 5,000dollar fine

3. gave me lingerie that his ex had worn, and it was 5 sizes too big

4. stole a debit card and used it to get gas, on pay day

5. spent money on flowers when we didn't have enough for rent

6. spent all extra money on dope

7. smoked dope everyday, whether we could afford it or not

8. spent his pay check on crap for dope before paying any bills

9. racked up my credit cards

10. hugged my mom's butt

11. made me feel like crap at my cousin's wedding

12. tried to tell me how to raise my daughter

13. relies on prescription medications to make it though life

14. made me be the guy in bed

15. accused me of cheating

16. told me that he thinks i'm legally crazy and should be checked out/locked up

17. slacked on housework terribly, made me feel like betty homemaker

18. thought they could own me

19. accused me of ignoring my child

20. were too obsessed with computer/video games to realize i was sitting right there talking to them

big sister

so it seems that my allys is very excited to be a big sister. we went to st. vincent de paul today to get some newborn baby clothes, neutral of course, and browse some other things. she kept insisting that i needed to buy girl clothes, but was still excited to help mom pick out baby clothes. no to this one, yea to that one... i tried several times to explain to her that mommy doesn't know which baby she is going to have, so we have to buy yellows and greens because a boy baby and a girl baby can both wear them. regardless, when we got to the boy baby clothes she got a little upset with me. i explained it again and she seemed to finally understand. so she was quite a bit more picky about them than before, but we still got some cute things. i got a couple of maternity shirts and she found a red sweater with roses that she absolutely loves. unfortunately it is a bit big, but she always has time to grow into things.

she talked to me about a bed for the baby. i explained that my uncle dale and aunt mary have a crib for us when we are ready for it, but told her that she would need a smaller bed. (she has a full size bed) we found a spongebob sheet and she pretty much told me that she would love me forever if i bought it for her. i told her that i have the exact same sheet and fitted sheet at home, but she would need that smaller bed before she could have them. so she seems pretty excited. she told me i needed baby shoes and a baby bath tub and a high chair and ... big sister has an opinion. lol

when i found the craft department we discussed fabrics to make the baby a blanket. i wanted yellow for the ducky fabric i had at home, but we found nothing that worked. so we settled on some aqua blue and some matching yarn to make frillies. that is when i noticed her jealousy coming out. she never asked if she was getting a blanket, but just jumped into what hers was gonna look like. it made me chuckle, but i assured her that i would make her one too. i don't need a big jealous sister. :)

tick tick tick...

i hate waiting... ask anyone... i am now waiting for my first appointment for baby, waiting for baby, waiting for al's double ear infections to go away, waiting for mike to get up... it seems to be an endless cycle. so i suppose i will go off and find clothes for the baby i am so impatiently waiting for... thank god for st. vincent de paul. i'm so excited for this baby. i'm only about 10 weeks along according to the internet pregnancy calendar, but i feel like i've already been waiting too long. my impatientness has lead me to starting my gift registry for my baby shower, which has been irritating, and shopping already. mom says i should wait till i know how many babies and what kind of baby i'm going to gift the world, but she has got to be crazy! i can't sit here anymore!!!

so thursday, mike and i are planning on doing the baby registry in person rather than on the internet... not at all pushing it along a bit faster than need be... lol. and then next thursday is my appointment with my nurse practitioner... finally. she has already canceled on me once... waited a month and a half and she cancels. luckily i only have to wait an additional 2 days.... and it works better for the wee ol' schedule. i haven't told mom that it's been rescheduled, but i'm pretty sure she'll call me sometime today or so. like clockwork lol.
